Bonnes Meres Auxiliary of Redlands
Since 1993, Bonnes Meres has been an auxiliary of Children's Fund. Bonnes Meres was founded in 1958 by a group of Redlands women who had adopted children from Children’s Home Society and/or wanted to help adoptive children and families. Bonnes Meres supported CHS in its mission to give service and counseling to natural and adoptive parents and help to the children involved. As well as raising funds for and interpreting CHS to the public, Bonnes Meres was a hands-on auxiliary in the beginning as members would work with babies and even dress them to meet their new families.
In 1992, for various reasons and after much thought, discussion, and research, the auxiliary decided to separate from CHS and give support to local needs. So, after 35 years of dedicating much time and energy to CHS, Bonnes Meres chose to become an auxiliary of the Children's Fund.
Today, Bonnes Meres continues to raise funds, promote community awareness and carry out projects in support of children at risk through their two major events, the Bonnes Meres Holiday Auction and The Bonnes Meres Birthday Luncheon.
